What materials do you use?
We love sustainable materials here at The Little Bamboo Company and are always searching for new innovative products and the most creative ways of using these exciting materials.
If for product functionality or safety reasons other materials, such as silicone for product seals, are required then these materials will be considered. In the short term we believe this is still a large reduction on other suppliers for plastic and non bio-degradable materials and we will continue our research and testing of new Eco-friendly materials to replace these in the future.
Is Bamboo sustainable?
Recognised by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) as a renewable resource, bamboo forests can be completely regrown in just a few years. Incredibly some species of bamboo are able to grow up to 3 feet in a single day. As bamboo self generates from its own roots, there is no need for the use of potentially environmentally damaging pesticides. Our bamboo is grown by local farmers in the Fujian province located in Eastern China. Farming in this region has been a way of life for its communities for hundreds of years.
From the farms to the factories where our products are made, we check that all those workers are paid a fair wage in line with their province’s average salaries.
What effect is bamboo farming having on the Panda population?
Our products are constructed from Moso bamboo which is not considered a food source by pandas. Furthermore, pandas are only found in the wild in central China, far from the bamboo forests of Fujian in the East of the country where our bamboo is derived from.

Next day delivery is available but is an additional cost to standard delivery.
Orders over £30 are eligible for free delivery.
What about your carbon footprint?
As with any products there is a certain degree of travel involved between their place of growth or manufacture through to the consumer. We continue to look for ways of reducing the carbon footprint of all of our products to keep this as low as possible.
Where are your suppliers based?
We source our products from all around the world in order to provide you with the most innovative and exciting sustainable products. We conduct thorough research of all companies we work with, including working practices and ensuring fair pay for all. We also have suppliers based in the UK, from a wonderful bee farm in Scotland to our soap, shampoo bar and body scrubs manufacturer based near to our own business premises in Bedfordshire.
